The Zero Point of Sculpture
Artist's book, 2016
Softback, 64 pp., 297 × 420 mm, edition of 10
The Zero Point of Sculpture takes its title from a sculpture by the artist Erwin Wurm. Wurm's 'Zero Point of Sculpture' refers to his concept of minimalist sculptures that explore the absence of a work, rather than its presence. The work – one of his Dust Sculptures (1989–90) – depicts traces of a missing object on a surface where dust had fallen. My book utilises the the principle of photodegradation – using the Sun as a source – to 'print' the absence of books.
