The New Pulsar Generator Recordings,
CD packaging design for Marcin Pietruszewski's 'The New Pulsar Generator Recordings Volume 1'. The music was composed using Pietruszewski's New Pulsar Generator software. Pulsar synthesis is an advanced form of particle synthesis which is used to generate trains of sonic particles. Its output ranges from singular impulses and sequences to continuous tones across multiple perceptual timescales. The idea of sound grains was first proposed by Iannis Xenakis and later developed by Curtis Roads. The packaging design, featuring text manipulations by Florian Hecker, is printed in two colour separations, metallic silver and black.
